Boys Soccer Headed To The MHSAA State Championship

The Husky boys soccer program has continued their historic season on Wednesday night in the MHSAA State Semifinals. The Huskies went into the 2nd half vs Grand Rapids Christian tied 0-0. The Eagles were able to get on the scoreboard first when a shot deflected off the post and went in. The Huskies battled for the next twenty minutes to eventually tie up the score on a set piece throw in by Dylan Van Skiver. The score remained 1-1 through regulation and overtime. The Huskies headed to a shootout for the 3rd time this postseason. This shootout proved to be the best one yet going to sudden death and saw nine players from each school taking shots. Luka Darling made a save and the game was sealed by a final PK from Jaxon Byl. The Huskies will play on Saturday November 2nd at Grand Ledge High School vs De La Salle scheduled for a 3:30 start.
