Wrestling- Five Huskies Advance to MHSAA Regionals

Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern is proud to announce that five Huskies earned top four finishes at the District Tournament and will advance to the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Regionals this Saturday, February 21 at Portage Northern High School. All wrestlers who placed in the top four at MHSAA Districts qualified MHSAA Regionals, and Forest Hills Northern will be well represented. Forest Hills Northern Regional Qualifiers 113 pounds Dylan Furlo (Senior) Furlo earned a third place finish with an impressive fall in 32 seconds in the consolation finals. He advances with a 36-12 record. 132 pounds Philip Chamberlain (Senior) Chamberlain placed fourth in a highly competitive bracket, finishing the day with a 35-13 record and punching his ticket to Regionals. 157 pounds Christian Garces (Senior) Garces battled his way to a runner-up finish, falling in a tight 8-5 tiebreaker match in the finals. He advances with a strong 35-10 record. 175 pounds William Watson (Senior) Watson secured a fourth place finish after a hard-fought sudden victory match in the consolation finals. He heads to Regionals with a 38-9 record. 190 pounds Nicolas Campos (Senior) Campos claimed third place with a 7-5 decision in the consolation finals, improving to 37-12 on the season. These five seniors advancing to the MHSAA Regionals reflects the dedication they have shown to their craft and to the Forest Hills Northern wrestling program. The Huskies will compete this Saturday at Portage Northern, where they will look to continue their postseason journey toward the MHSAA State Finals at Ford Field Forest Hills Northern congratulates these student-athletes and their coaching staff on an outstanding District performance and wishes them the very best this weekend.
